1. I don’t know about the SRT. Perhaps you can enlighten me on how to tell? I notice SIG sells kits to retro-fit to the SRT. Thanks for the advice. This is my first semi-auto. I’ll take all the advice I can get.

3. Christopher, if yours is new, it has it built in. The older ones were a bit sloppy on the trigger rebound, and you could short stroke them. That means pulling the trigger on an uncocked gun ... which doesn’t make it fire. Get yourself 2 SnapCaps and practice dry firing. Practice lots. Build up the muscle, and know that you are trying to pull your fingertip back into the web by your thumb. Almost ALL the bad shooting done with a semi-auto is because of pushing, canting, or mashing the trigger. I think your gun is a first shot DA, next shot SA ... which means you will have a tendency to shoot low on the first shot because the trigger pull is much heavier. PRACTICE. Learn the 4 - or is it now 5? - stances with both hands, including the formal one-hand target stance.

   Yes folks, just like ATF, EPA, and IRS, the DHS is OUT OF CONTROL. they are now a standing army inside the USA that does NOT answer to Congress. Or the Constitution. Be afraid. 7000 rifles, 2 billion rounds of ammo, 2800 armored vehicles. Plus God knows how many shotguns and pistols. And whatever else they want to take from the government arsenals. And drones.

4. It is new. If the stroke was too short I’d end up with a machine-pistol. Waste of ammo. At least I know what SnapCaps are. Got a dozen of them for the shotgun for me and the wife to practice with. I’ll certainly go get a few 9mm ones. Good idea. Yes, mine is indeed DA/SA as you said. I’ll have to practice. I’m used to my revolvers. This is my first semi-auto.

   My old high school buddy Mike is an NRA-certified instructor. We will be going to the range together. (Right Mike?) He registered on BMEWS last night. Don’t remember his nom-de-BMEWS, but it’s something like ‘old fart’ (antiqueflatus?) He’s also going to be starting up his CCW classes. Guess what I’ll be doing in the near future?

   BTW, that 2800 armored vehicles thing is an urban legend. The ammo is true, but that’s a five-year requisition. Still something to watch…
