I love my P226! Got one (in .40) back in ‘05 or ‘06, and later bought the .357 Sig barrel.
A friend who had an inexpensive .40 fired mine and exclaimed “Now I know why its twice the price of mine!”
The trigger is sweet.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
I did get a 10% veteran’s discount!
There is a gun show dealer who gives veterans discounts? Wow - how nice. We don’t have the money right now, my first purchase will be a new carry purse and ammo - even WPAFB didn’t have anything other than what we have stocked already.
From what I saw at Bill Goodman’s at Hara yesterday, most of the dealers were offering varying discounts to police, vets, active-duty, Guardsmen, reservists, etc. For firearms, not ammo or other stuff. (I did buy 200 rnds of 9mm, no discount there!)
I ended up not going back today. I did my taxes last night and… I don’t know how long I’ll be unemployed.
So my P-226 is my birthday present to me! At least that’s how I’ll pitch it to my wife, when I tell her…
Very nice indeed! As for the rifle, instead of a 516 I’d get a 556 or 551. I carried an M-16 for 20 years. I’ve fondled the Sigs, and it just feels a bit better to me. But that’s just me. As for the pistol, I’ve shot various Sigs and find no fault at all. Especially if it’s a .45. The one I REALLY want is the 220X6.
Thanks cmblake6. I’ll look into the 556 & 551. Later, when I’m gainfully employed. And a big ‘Thank You’ for your service. I only did six years Navy and didn’t carry anything except a shotgun on ‘repel boarders’ drills. And it was unloaded.
Ya, I’m thinkin shootin a hole in a boat 200ft under water would be a BAD idea.
Rich, were you there? On the Tommy T? Captain fired that RPG and some of the onlooking crew took some shrapnel. Captain blamed the crew for watching. He could have ordered the decks cleared.
