  1. A good father is one in which elevates his children to the next level in a loving and caring way. Earl Woods probably made a few mistakes along the way, but he sure did a helluva job raising his kid. Job well done. Rest in peace.

  3. A decent father (and who of us as parents never made a mistake) who raised a fine young man - too bad his example is not held forth for all fathers to aspire to.

America needs more fathers like him.

  5. Not perfect, but one hell of a dad.  I only hope to raise my kids half as well.  RIP

  6. Bulldog is right then perhaps we wouldn’t have such violence and hatred going on in the world today.

Ghandi said it - if there is to be peace in the world, it must start with the children.

[And he wasn’t talking about those maskwearing vandelizing scum at UC Santa Clara who just want to get rid of the US military, nor the mask wearing lawbreaking ‘reconquista’ scum who just want to invade America] Neither bunch realizing that if their ‘dream’ comes true, the real America, the one they enjoy living in - will cease to exist. Because their pie-in-the-sky dreams have nothing to do with what built America, keeps it going and makes it a great place to live in.

Tragically much of Europe is also suffering the same effects of disidents and scum who want the ‘high life’ without any of the work and sacrifice it requires.

  7. I remember first seeing Sgt. Woods and his then three year old son, on Johnny Carson, little Tiger had a plastic toy golf club, and one of those indoor “putting greens”, and the kid was knocking them into the cup with nary a miss.  Even back then, it was plainly obvious that Tiger was going to be a champion. Godspeed Earl Woods, we’ll miss you. angel

  8. Rat you reminded me - I’d forgotten about that. Been so long since I watched late night tv. But I do remember the plastic toy club - you know what there is something to be said about toeing a line, setting your sights on a goal and having respect for your elders.

Compare that little boy and his father with Michael Jackson - his father used his kids for a fast buck - and look how they turned out.

Going for the gold or shooting for the stars turns out right only when you are doing it with some self sacrifice and discipline.
