2. Well, there is always beer and fishing. Pretty sure Rancino sent me that picture too!

   I actually wanted to add that this dish is pretty tasty. Sure, you could serve it pretty too: pour a thin layer of the beans over a bed of rice, then mound the corn mix on it, and top the whole thing off with the meat laid out all nice. It tastes the same that way. Or leave everything separate on the plate. But then it wouldn’t be Hurl. And how can you resist inviting your friends over? “Hey, I’ve got some leftover hurl I’m gonna heat up. Want some?”

   My wife came home, took one look in the pan and said “What is this, dried puke?” See, it’s perfectly named!

3. Having served on DD558, the USS Laws,
   My Dad being an Ex-Navy man had developed a real liking for SPAM.
   
   Fried eggs he was not so fond of.

   It seems that everytime they were served fried eggs they went to General Quarters.
   It was said that the Fried eggs were accursed.

   I can remember him cooking us kids breakfast on Sunday mornings.

   Usually it was Fried SPAM and Grape jelly on Toast.

   Sometimes in the Evenings he would cook us SPAM fried Rice, One of my favorites.

   Sweet, Salty and Greasy, Yum.
