NOT GA GA OVER GA GA or what passes for talent these days ….

  1. In my never-to-be-humble opinion, Cher only had talent when paired with Sonny.

As for looking like a hooker, there’s a time and place for that.

That was not the time or the place.

I know this because my wife will never dress up like that in public. In privateā€¦? Yikes! She makes Cher looks like a school girl. (Uh oh. That might be the point!)

  2. I saw this picture and thought she’s beginning to look like all the drag queens who have been impersonating her for years. How sad to be so insecure and vapid to do something this low for your one and only LOOK AT ME moment for the year.

  3. She is a good actress tho.  That’s a talent she does have.

I guess I grew up in a time when entertainers dressed on stage, as well as I did attending. Usually better of course because they had lots of money.  The ideas of a performer going on stage dressed ratty and worse then some in the audience shows a lack of regard for that audience, I think.

  4. Nobody said they couldn’t dress any way they want. Of course they can. But that doesn’t mean they also have very good taste. In fact, they have none but it doesn’t matter at all since the silly mindless ppl that approve them are just as tasteless. And Wardmom is right. Cher probably has no idea how awful she looks.

Now having said all of that.  I have no argument with you thinking she might look good because you have every right to your own thoughts and opinions.  As do the rest of us.

Sonny wrote a number of songs as I recall, and he was the one who pushed and made her.  He drew out what talent she had.  Some acts need that sort of thing, especially at the beginning. And some never stop needing the pushing. I know that from my days in Nashville. I’ve seen it first hand. He made the decisions as to what songs were done and staged their shows. He most likely had a say in studios and producers and even recording engineers.

  5. And who named you folks the experts on what is good taste?

    I did.

Now pardon me, I’ve Korans to burn, the resulting ashes to flush, etc.

  7. How long have you been licking envelopes?

How long have you been smoking weed?

BTW, did you hear about the Aussie atheist who smoked a ‘joint’ (not sure if he used marijuana or just tobacco) made from pages from the Bible and the Koran?

It appears he’s offended Muslims. He actually got sick from the Koran fag. The Bible fag didn’t affect him at all.

  8. I really like Cher, while I would find this outfit great for personal viewing it is wrong for a public appearance, aspecially as she wore it for a tv special some years back, still great bod for a granny.

  9. My favorite Cher outfit was the one from her video on the battleship Missouri. Fishnet body suit, black leather crotch suspenders, spike heels and a biker jacket. Riding that 18 incher for all it was worth. Trashy, but hotter’n hell. Bet she had every straight sailor on board worked up, and she was old enough to be their mom at that point. And all the remaining DADT sailors were having a case of the swoons because ... it was Cher!!

  10. Silly English paper ... I followed your link ... that is NOT Cher’s 1989 Turn Back Time outfit. It’s much more modest.

And Lady Gaga wore an outfit made from raw meat. Cuz that’s what she is, and how she’s treated. And how the music industry and it’s pressure makes her feel. Yeah uh huh, all the way to the bank. Because extreme irony and sarcasm is what sells to kids these days. They’re so jaded and suffer so much sensory overload that kind of overkill is the only thing that gets through to them. Thus gaga or googoo or whatever she calls herself is popular ($$$$) even though she isn’t very talented. But she dresses so far over the horizon she’s coming up behind you. Sartorial irony. Maybe her lyrics are just as snarky.
