The figures seem to vary but this MEP has a breakdown of the costs of EU mebership to Britain. I make it £12 million per day not exactly chickenfeed.
They’re just going to keep chiseling away at any country’s legislature that voted no, asking them over and over and over and over again until they get a sole “Yes” and then it’s too late. Electing MEPs that have no seats? MADNESS.
Pretty damned offensive too.
I hope Ireland sticks to her guns on this and keeps these assholes in turmoil.
Argentium like you I am hoping the Irish tell the EU where to get off, but the problem is the EU carry on as if they already have a yes. They will bribe, bully and threaten Ireland. They are not prepared for any “little” country to stand in the way of their grandiose scheme.
I suspect the real cost of EU protection is a lot higher, add the cost of nationalising the banks, dismantling UK industry, taking english gold to prop up the Frank, aaarrrggghh, what a crock of shit, I am embaressed to be english, what a bunch of toss-pots to willingly buy in to that shit.

Chris you make a good point. Before Eastern Europe joined the EU we used to get coach loads of “asylum seeking” gypsies from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland etc. After they joined we still got bus loads but they no longer had to claim asylum just turn up at the dole office and claim that they were destitute.
Then we had Bulgaria and Romania join and they <s>have</s> had huge gypsy populations. They now turn up in Dover every day by the bus load looking for a new life. So the actual cost of our EU membership is I expect substantially higher than the published figures. In the Daily Mail yesterday there was an article about some right wing nut job in the Czech Republic who wanted a “final solution” for the gypsy problem. I suggest that they have already found it.
