Another tissue-thin excuse to get another citizen’s DNA into the database, and now that it’s there, he’s got zero hope of getting it removed.
> I was stunned and could not believe what was happening. It was so embarrassing.
Wrong attitude. Get ANGRY. Sue and try to get a huge whack of money out of them. Only when you take a good bite out of their yearly budget will these hacks start paying attention.
You and others: Agitate to get your MPs to change the laws that empower the police to collect DNA on arrest. If you must collect it, it should ONLY be on conviction AFTER due process has been done. The problem with your DNA is you innocently leave it all sorts of places. Once they have it in their database, they can start drawing the wrong conclusions. And of course there’s always those wonderful false-positives/close matches that could really wreck your life. Don’t have anything to fear? Bullshit, the innocent have the MOST to fear, and are the most easily bullied by a corrupt system.
