  1. ’staring through the glass floor’ - No. Freaking. Way. Either - Ever.

  2. Oh. Dude. That would be such a TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Provided, of course, that you didn’t. I, personally, would get such a nut!

  3. I would do it. I would make sure I had a clean pair of drawers handy first, but I would do it.

  4. No way.  I have trouble being on the roof of my 1 story house.  Easy stomach....

  5. not to be picky, but you mean acrophobia and you wouldnt get me out there either

  6. Holy, I wouldn’t even go the furthermost point for a few thousand dollars.

  7. The Calgary Tower has a section of the floor replaced with glass. It’s “only” 525 feet up but it certainly made me nervous stepping out on the glass. I don’t know if I would chance the Grand Canyon view. That’s a long way down!

  8. In all fairness, no way you’d survive the fall.  Dead on impact I’d be willing to bet.  Of course, if you could get past the “oh shit I’m about to die” part of the fall, it could be a fun last experience.

  9. Agorophobia is the fear of open spaces.  Acrophobia is the fear of heights.  Either way, I’m with you - NO FREAKIN’ WAY!!!

4000 feet to the canyon floor means you have time to scream yourself breathless 3 or 4 times at least before you turn into a red puddle of goo.

  10. 4000 feet up, the typical “terminal velocity” for a falling human body is 100-120 MPH, 147-176 FPS. So, average about 25 seconds to scream aaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttttttttttttt… before making the final splashdown.

Just remember, it’s not the fall that kills, it’s that sudden stop at the bottom.

  11. I might try it once.. but $50 for the chance minimum seems a bit steep.. And no freaking way would I go on that thing with 119 other people....I’d like to know what average weight they used to come up with 120, and seems like with 120 on that thing at 1 time if you didn’t have
agoraphobia issues you’d probaly have claustrophobia issues for sure..

“They’ll allow up to 120 people at a time to look down to the canyon floor more than 4,000 feet below, a vantage point more than twice as high as the world’s tallest buildings.”

  12. Looks like a fun place to BASE jump from… :D

  13. It can’t be that bad. In Toronto, the CN Tower observation deck is over 1100 feet above the concrete below. There is a section of deck (the glass is over 8 inches thick) that is completely transparent.

It was actually fun to walk out into the middle of it and watch all of the people look at me like I was nuts. I just thought of it as Rapture practice.
