6. As a NavVet, I’d like to expound on the whole Mission Accmplished thing.

   I recall a time when the SecNav under Ronald Regan visited us in San Diego and thanked us for ‘Mission Accomplished.”

   What was our mission? Just a combo of sea trials and war games. Some of the war games were to find a Soviet sub and chase it for awhile. Lots of fun there in the North Pacific.

   When GWB landed on that aircraft carrier and said “Mission Accomplished” he was only referring to the mission the aircraft carrier set to do. The mission was to support our troops on the ground. The mission was accomplished.

   When they take a poll, I’ve a question that never gets answered: What percentage of Democrats are Vets vs. what percentage of Republicans are Vets? Who loves their country more to voluntarily risk their life for the country?
