  1. Thanks for producing this, yes it is a crock of shit, but as you say popular. Never mind that Russia has been hovering up the European energy market and has us by the balls, there is evedently life in the old commie dog yet!
There is a pandemic of dumb stupid softness about, hence the support the marxist/racist remould has worldwide, it seems to me that support for obama could be a litmas test for something??
One extra good thing about this and other like minded blogs is that you stop me thinking Ive lost the thread!!

  2. Russia (in the form of the CCCP) expanded its influence over Eastern Europe during WWII by way of ethnic...if not cleansing per se, then by injection. That’s why you have Russians in the Baltic States, Georgia, Ukraine, and all the other former Soviet republics...and they all hold Russian passports! They’ve all had to put up with these tactics for well over 200 years!
Is it any wonder, then, why some of these states agree to join NATO?
And did anyone else notice that even as Russia thrust its way into Georgia, the price of oil and natural gas (both of which ol’ Pooty wants to control going into Western Europe) didn’t do shit!
In choosing its own side, Russia has, once again, chosen the wrong side.

  3. Interesting point Macker. You would have thought the Russian intervention would have pushed oil through the roof. yet the price has been falling. The situation has exposed how useless the EU is as a counterweight to the US. When push comes to shove they have nothing to offer. It always comes back to Nato and that means the US, Britain and Canada doing the dirty work. At least we have the former Soviet Bloc countries like Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary on our side now. The EU is facing big problems in the future with a country like Russia potentially holding them to ransom over energy supplies.

  4. LyndonB: “You would have thought that the Russian intervention would have pushed oil through the roof.”

I seriously think that this was one of their aims. Fortunately, the markets have settled down since Iran was arsing about, and they ignored it.

I’m living in Austria currently, and I’ve been doing some driving around, in Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Did you know that Tesco has a foothold in Central Europe? The’re all over the place. My wife and I were amazed.

These guys will fight tooth and nail to stay out of a Resurgent Russian new empire. And I’m sure that the Kremlin knows it.

I think in the long run, Russia will lose out overall, with the anti-Russian feeling they have revived. The question is: do they care about that? Probably not.
