  1. No kidding.

The Republican field has some good people, interesting people, even people with areas of brilliance, but no one who carries the aura of “Presidential”.  There’s going to have to be some serious work getting the message to former Obama voters that it really is OK to vote Republican.

  2. Don’t know if this helps, I’m voting Herman Cain and Col. Allen West.

Just kidding, voting Gingrich. Although the above would be my ‘dream team’.  Especially against the Asshole-in-Chief.

But then in ‘96 my dream team was Steve Forbes/Allan Keyes. My dream teams never win.

Romney? He ticked me off back in ‘08. He quit before I even got to vote and threw his support to McCain. What a waste. My vote I mean. I didn’t hear he’d quit until after I cast my vote.

  3. Yes Chris - because unlike the DNC who took an unknown and propelled him to the top - the GOP remains hopelessly stuck in this ‘entitled and moderate’ crap - which is not what the real Republicans want.

I was for Herman Cain - and his bowing out - leads me to believe that there was ‘something’ there or he was a coward. Such a shame - but come on - when the ‘conservative’ pundits, GOP and other candidates don’t rally behind him and help him at all (or Sarah Palin) or - but damn well expect US to rally behind whomever they’ve picked. . .

Well we are screwed no matter what happens. It comes down to NOT a choice between Republican or Democrat, NOT even a choice between Right and Wrong, but simply a choice between arsenic and hemlock.

Do you want America to die quickly or slowly?

I hope that they all rot in hell. Too bad they will destroy America before that happens.

  4. The biggest myth to contend with is the myth that there actually IS a Republican party.
All I see is a bunch of stealth progressives doing all they can to assure 4 more hellish years of Obama.

  5. Chris, well. I was a Forbes supporter too. I think he has the right ideas but sadly, the camera is not his friend. Which says nothing nice about our culture.
Not with ya on Allan Keyes tho. He’s more of a screamer. I recall his TV show before we left.  He’d make a good point, and then beat it to death. And like O’Reilly, it just killed the guy to let anyone else talk without being interrupted. Even when they agreed with him.

I liked Herman Cain, for awhile.  But then noticed how many times he had to say he didn’t mean something he said. And I have to agree with Wardmom.  There had to be something else in that last story besides running out of money.

I like Gingrich.  Since I don’t really believe we have anyone presidential, as Doc. Jeff put it so well, I hope the Republicans choose him. He’s as close to presidential as any of the current crowd and smarter too. But not one of them will defeat Obama.

Maybe I’m just overly gloom and doom but honestly, my feelings are a pox on both their houses.  I find hard these days to trust any of the self serving SOBs.  I’d exclude Forbes from that category were he running for office.  For some reason, I trust him.
But then ....  for a brief spell I also trusted Perot. I think I may still like Ike tho.

WARDMOM ... You are priceless.  And also right.
