  1. Many in the US are urging “Investment in Infrastructure” as part of any Stimulus package.

    During the Last Japanese Economic downturn this was tried with no effect.

  2. True. The CCC gave work to people which they in turn used to put food in their mouths. There was no welfare in those days, and people without income actually starved to death.

    I like the point about “essential government employees”. All you need is Fearless Leader who can say which jobs are essential. And most of them aren’t.
