MPs’ expenses: We need to make MPs’ lives more taxing.  Yeah. Like ours. In the real world.

  1. Interesting how the two main parties deal with this. The Conservatives have been told to stand down. Not satisfactory as they still get paid until they get kicked out, but a start. The socialists carry on as if nothing has changed.

The author makes a good point in respect to tax liabilities and it is something that really “grips my shit.” Hazel Blears and others with their bogus attempt to fob off the ignorant plebs by waving around a cheque. She claims this will repay her capital gains tax. Bullshit her “paid for by the taxpayer accountant” would be able to explain this.

They really don’t get it. Yesterday we had the spectacle of the female half of a husband and wife team trying to play the “poor widdle me” card. Then there’s Margaret Moran (Moron?) who has defrauded the taxpayer to the tune of £22,500 to treat dry rot in a house hundreds of miles from her constituency. She is “carrying on despite ill health” what a treasure eh? She is not too ill to continue collecting her paycheck as long as Brown can postpone the inevitable.

Meanwhile the man in charge of tax collection in Britain remains in his office despite having claimed back the fee for his tax advice. Why should he be allowed to do this when the rest of the population can’t. Did he not think this might be rather awkward if it were to be revealed to the public? No doubt, like the rest of the crooks, he voted in favour of keeping the records secret, but the Telegraph did the people of Britain a great service by revealing what an odious bunch of crooks and charlatans (on both sides) we have in Parliament. Oh and let us not forget the snake oil salesman, scumbag in chief, Tony Blair who conveniently arranged for his expenses to be shredded. Imagine if you or I tried that excuse with the IRS/H.M.R&C they would have a good laugh and then take you to court.

  2. Keep them coming Peiper, interesting stuff, even if it’s on the other side of the pond.. A lot of what happens over there affects those of us over here. It’s always nice to have fore-warning.
