  1. Most of the techies I know use third-party tools like AdSubtract Pro and AdAware as well as Norton Anti-Virus (latest versions stop trojans as well as viruses) to eliminate spyware. I haven’t tried Microsoft’s program yet and probably won’t. I have all kinds of defenses already in place.

  2. I’m using the beta version too.So far so good.A couple good free ones are Spybot S&D and Spyware Blaster, they work well together.

  4. If one is paranoid about trojans (yup, that’s me) why not try a classy good ‘ol Aussie product.

No. It aint free. But it has saved my business computers when the big name programs have failed.
I use a layered approach with freebie and purchased programs for viruses, worms, trojans, adware, spyware, highjackers, etc.

PS. I may be paranoid, but I have not had to re-format because of slimeware infestation.

  5. I appear to be in danger from BMEWS.

Whenever I visit the BMEWS site, my address bar buttons keep telling me…

    ‘Who’s In The White House?
    Bush! Bush! Bush!’

Considering that I voted Bush as the lesser of two evils, I already know who’s in the White House. ‘Tis very annoying.

Only happens when I’m visiting BMEWS.
