  2. Don’t worry BMEWSers, as we get closer to Halloween they start to get funny.

  3. OCM, are you near Denver?

If so, this may be of interest:

Oh, yeah, happy halloween, and yea, it was Gahan Wilson, he was one of my all time “dark humor” favorites.

  4. Speaking of Halloween:

Would it be better to prevent my kids from doing the ‘Trick-or-Treat for Unicef’ shakedown, or allow them to do it and then donate all the proceeds to a WORTHWHILE cause i.e. BMEWS, the NRA, Anti-ACLU or ANTI-CAIR?

Also, if some kid comes to my door asking for money for Koffi and his posse, what should I say?  I think “Go Fnck yourself” is to the point but perhaps a bit harsh.  I don’t want to get into any ideological debates as there will be a hockey game on.

  5. OCM: That’s why Pure Democracy sucks—with legislatures there’s room for compromise and negotiation—often too much. But every time they run a referendum on pot, Horace and Lulabell vote it down.

  6. I love Halloween - did you all know that I went to nursing school in Salem, Mass. - the home of the witches.............My patients love to hear that I went to the Salem Hospital School of Witchery...........When dating in nursing school we would go “parking” at Gallows Hill (where they hanged the witches) .......of course you all know what “parking” means.............. LOL

  7. Dot: Turn off the ignition and set the parking brake? wtf

  8. We used to go down to the river and watch the submarine races. There were several convenient parks to observe them. Never lost one over Niagara Falls either. Superb seamanship. LOL

  9. Oink - would turn off the ignition, set the parking brake & steam up the windows......... smile

  10. Dot: Do horny teenagers “park” today?  If so, I’m not aware of it. I believe they have more resources and less supervision. Remembering back ten years ago, I don’t think my 3 kids had their ‘trysts’ in cars. This was a case where “don’t ask, don’t tell” made sense. (This was when they were older teens.)

  11. Probably hand cranked submarines in those days, eh? LOL

  12. Stin - we used the phrase “submarine races” in my long ago days also.........
Oink - have no idea what the current teenagers do these days - my boys are in their 30’s & both married & I am “out of the loop” as far as the teenagers of today.............
