  1. Moral equivalence, “Jerks abusing prisoners = mass murder by fanatics”.

Does not excuse prisoner abuse, however.  Just not one the same moral planet.

  2. I read a statement yesterday saying that there was nothing new in these photos.  I dare you to find ONE person in this country that doesn’t know what went on in that prison.  We all know....we’ve all known for quite sometime...ever since the original pictures were plastered all over the NYT’s front page...what purpose can this possibly serve, outside of the one The Skipper mentioned above!?@ Remember back in the day when traitors were hung?

  3. One thing may be said about the ACLU, and it has to be admitted.  These specimens have a remarkable survival instinct.  No other fifth column, no other treasonous conspiracy ever succeeded for half a quarter so long in sustaining itself (or, more accurately, in maneuvering others into sustaining it).  If the “Illuminati” actually existed, they might be proud.

That being admitted, it is manifestly past time for an appointment against the wall.

  4. I’m not sure whose ‘civil liberties’ are being violated in the case of the Abu Grabby pictures, but for darn sure students who are sanctioned on college campus for what they say (always the conservative ones of course) are entitled to ACLU help, but the ACLU’s silence has been deafening.

Perhaps the solution to throttling back the ACLU’s onslaught would be to revisit the law that gets them reimbursed from the US Treasury for “civil rights” legal fees.  Once upon a time, the law may have served to help indigent blacks whose rights were trampled and couldn’t afford counsel, but now it has become a slush fund for tort lawyers and the Left.

Bush or other appropriate authority must override Hellerstein in the interest of National Security, which privilege has been abused to hide things in the past, but in this case would for very damn sure save American lives.

At one time I thought a group that looked after the little guy’s fundamental rights had to be a good thing, but the ACLU is an evil, dangerous bunch, and needs to be stopped.

  5. Ya know, it would be a travesty if all those photos came up missing.

  6. I’m surprised the ACLU should, would or could concern itself with ANY military affairs.
Also, if Hellerstein wanted to insure transparency and accountability in government,we all know there are countless areas of suspicion that would take him far away from the
    photos of Abu Ghraib.
