    Maybe Southern dems were against it but from the vantage point I had, there sure did seem to be an awful lot of lib.dems involved on the side of civil rights etc.
    Anyway ... that whole thing led to FORCED busing which was never a good thing for any reason.  And lets be fair, had he lived MLK might have been exposed as a plagiarist which I grant you is not the end of the world. His marriage headed for the rocks (adultery) according to things I have read but it really is so hard to know ALL of the truth about almost anything. How much true and how much just put out by enemies?

    I do believe however that had he not been killed, sainthood might not have been bestowed.

    And honestly, all those schools and streets named after him, and of course another day without postal service or stock market or banks ... why? 
    The answer I think is because whitey was merely tossing the dog a bone in the hope that cities wouldn’t burn. Which they did anyway over and over again.
