  1. What need for a risk assessment, since nobody there has a gun, or even a pointy knife anymore?

Take this paramedics credentials away. Then take him outside and shoot him. He has broken the code.

What next? The fire company arrives on scene but has to wait 6 hours for the flames to go out because they risk being burned? ‘Elf & Safety decide that ladder trucks can no longer be used, so all fires must be put out from ground level only? Ooh, ooh, I know: any firehose larger than 1 1/2” in diameter can be a handful if it gets loose, so from now on all fire hoses must be no bigger than garden hoses.

See, you can go beyond lame, but when you come out the other side people start dieing.

  2. Given all this, what is the point of even having paramedics or any other first responder?
The so called paramedic is a worthless piece of shit.  The man dying in the house was the priority, and all the medics I know here in the states would have found a way to get to him no matter what.  Health and safety my ass.  Death and indifference is more like it. The medic in question should be charged with negligent homicide and de certified, and never allowed to work in the field again.

  4. Indeed, commenting is difficult. That is stupidity beyond reality.

  5. You folks will not be surprised at all to learn, if you haven’t heard about it already,
that sometime last year I believe it was, the POLICE did the same thing.

Called to a property (forgive me I don’t have the article or total details here now)the police decided on doing a risk assessment before going in. I believe someone with a knife. ?? Not sure. So it isn’t unique. Stupid and deadly? Yeah. Unique?  Nope.

  6. I found the article.  Way older then last year but it says it all anyway.

Unanswered questions about the ‘barbecue killings’
Neighbours want to know why two women were left to bleed to death while police with machine guns carried out a ‘risk assessment’ from four miles away.

‘These armed response guys have machine guns, pistols, body armour, helmets; I had a lump of wood. What were they doing four miles down the road?’ Pensioner Roy Gibson is recalling the tragic events of 6 June, when three neighbours of his were shot, two fatally, and the police and emergency services took over an hour to intervene.

The case of the ‘barbecue killings’, as it came to be known, seemed to come to a grisly logical conclusion on 24 June, when suspected killer Stuart Horgan committed suicide in his cell at Woodhill Prison in Buckinghamshire.

Horgan stood accused of shooting his estranged wife Vicky Horgan, her sister Emma Walton and their mother Jacqueline Bailey at a family barbecue in the village of Highmoor Cross in Oxfordshire. The killings shocked Britain. The women were reportedly shot in front of Vicky’s two young children. Vicky and Emma died from their wounds; Jacqueline is still seriously ill in hospital. Horgan left no suicide note after slitting his throat with a blade from a disposable razor in his Woodhill cell.

  7. Isn’t that (_____) fill in your own explicative - exactly what here in the US people (with common sense and humanity for the victims) complained about re: Columbine and Virginia Tech?

That the first responders (i.e. LEOs) waited so long - that additional people were killed and wounded -

Damn, even I know - throw a smoke grenade and then storm the place - aiming for the guy(s) with the gun. Scared - go in the opposite entrance that you threw the grenade - I mean there are workable solutions that will keep the maximum people alive and end the situtation faster.

Of course it would help if the ambulance chasers actually abided by the law they claim to uphold and the Judicial system wasn’t looking for another social/cultural foundation to undermine and destroy - but someone has to have the guts to do the Right Thing - and that usually starts at the bottom.

  8. No paramedic I know of would have done something so cowardly.

Notice how they don’t name the sniveling son of a bitch?
