ROME — Italy granted asylum Wednesday to an Afghan who faced the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity, and Premier Silvio Berlusconi said the man was in the care of the Interior Ministry after arriving in Italy earlier in the day.
This means the poor bastard didn’t convert to Protestantism?
Do you suppose this may lead to other ‘converts’ seeking escape to the West?And another note to OCM: If you are excommunicated, the Catholic Church can ‘re-communicate” you. I don’t think Islam has figured out how to “re-capitate” you.

It’s not that religious persecution & being murdered isn’t a good excuse for asylum. What worries me is that clever, gutsy people can bring it on themselves if they want asylum. Yeah ... but I doubt that huge numbers have that kind of guts.

Only one thing Skipper. The Mullahs will meet GOD first, then when they are sent to Hell they will meet Allah, who will be more than happy to anally initiate them!
The Islamic world has rather vigorously been convincing Christians, Jews and all other non Muslims to move somewhere else. Check around for Syriac Church, Coptic, Egyption, etc. There are a lot of Christian arabs who have moved here is the last couple of decades. They want their lands Juden Rein and Christian Free. Sieg Heil!

Recall that Islam is a Socio-Political-Religious-Total system. The idea of separating Church/State is unimaginable. Think Medieval Europe and the Catholic Church. Only worse. We changed, perhaps they can too. We’ll see.
