2. Reminds me of the scene in “Life of Brian” where they are about to be crucified. Eric Idle says “Crucifixion’s too good for ‘em” and Michael Palin remarks that crucifixion is very nasty. Eric Idle replies “it’s not as nnn nnasty as something I just thought up!”

   I’m with the Cat on this issue I don’t think these “people” can be reformed so if you aren’t going to do away with them you will have to keep them caged up forever.

3. If you want to read a LAWYER who goes after these vermin - read Andrew Vachss.

   He use to defend child molesters/abusers until one day his client went out and raped the day Mr. Vachss got him off. He now only defends children. [The actual story is much better in Mr. Vachss’ telling, very moving]

   He classifies abusers into three catagories
   1) young or ignorant people who can be taught how to properly parent a child.
   2) abused as a child, adults/substance abusers who with education and therapy can learn to properly parent a child. Some in this group might be safer locked up for a while.
   3) evil people who obtain their own gratification from the pain and suffering of children, who can never be safe around children.

   My kind of lawyer. He lost an eye as a child and I’m sure makes quite an impression in the courtroom.

   I think a crime against a child - is a crime against humanity. And it should never be tolerated. It is the root of so much of the anger and violence in the world.

   Ghandi said it best - if we want peace in the world, we need to begin with the children.

4. I have another idea.  We could castrate them before they get out of prison.

   Let’s be honest, if they don’t have the gonads, they won’t have the urges.  If they don’t have the urges, they won’t molest the kids.

5. Just let them loose in the general population of any prison.  Make sure that the other prisoners know why the pedophile is in there.  Remove the body when the pedophile is sufficiently dead (may take several days - many violent offenders are creative).

   Dr. Jeff, I have one addition to your idea...when all the inmates are out in the prison yard, put the pedophile out with them. Only, hang a sign around the pedophiles neck, indicating he’s a pedophile. Also announce it over the PA system, and then whistle break-time for the guards. They could even have an incentive program for the inmates who are the most helpful with the situation.

   After yard time is over, send in the janitors to clear up the mess.

   End of story.
