Where do you get your Glass Perfect?
Drew ... and here I was thinking of my stomach ache AFTER the garlic pizza. Now it really hurts!
OK, smears. Have you ever tried old newspapers? Like say yesterdays issue thrown away?
The paper for some odd ball reason doesn’t smear. And no, the black ink only comes off on your hands unless you wear gloves.
I learned that from a service station I used to use in San Gabriel , CA. like 45 yrs ago and have been using same ever since. Of course, I never had to do the huge jobs you’re taking on.
Our windows too date to the 20s with rusted frames.
A ladder in a thunderstorm?
Get a grip on yourself friend. I have so much else to snail mail!
It’s true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?
Ronald Reagan
Mr. Reagan had the right idea. Trouble is Drew you have integrity and do the job right. If it was some fly by night they would have given it a quick once over and buggered off. At least they will have you back when they see the results.
TimO - Glass Perfect is for sale at Lowe’s and at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It’s $4-5 for a quart spray bottle, $8 for a half gallon jug. Spray it on lightly, let it sit a couple minutes, wipe it around and get it mostly dry with hard (low lint) paper towels. Then finish off with a good microfiber cloth. It’s faster to squeegee, and you will use a whole lot of GP on bigger windows. But for smaller ones, or fancy windows (textured glass, stained glass, etc) it’s tough to beat.
I am experimenting with adding some denatured alcohol to the stuff for added grease cutting ability. Don’t use alcohol on windows that have surface coatings, like spray on tints or those mylar films.
The Zep 40 spray works just as well, maybe a bit better. But it smells a bit, and the stuff evaporates too fast. If anything, Glass Perfect doesn’t evaporate fast enough. On cool glass in the shade it will just sit there for 10 minutes.

I got the whole back of the house done Thursday. Worked my butt off between rain showers. I did almost no scraping on those windows. That really eats the time up. But it makes for a lovely bit of glass.
So my “2 day” job is going to be 3 1/2 days. Oh well. That still works out to some pretty decent money per hour though.
