1. Yeah, I have seen that and it isn’t entirely correct. But no matter. Gypos/travelers whatever their name in whatever country they infect, they are a curse.

2. If it is bigotry then it is very well earned. They seem to have rights beyond the normal in places like the UK.  They apparently believe they also have the right to settle on private property when the mood takes em, they move in on public land and that issue has been covered in detail here.  They train kids to be pick pockets, in fact that issue was well covered in an episode of 60 Minutes, and that was 20 or more years ago. And nothing has changed.  They really have proved themselves to be a cancer on the body politic of Europe.
   They are mostly (not every single one but the vast majority) families of professional criminals. 
   

   If they commit crimes they should be punished like any other criminal in Europe.

   And most ppl would agree with that.  Unfortunately, they have learned all about civil rights and play that game to the hilt and get away with much in the UK.  The blame for that is on the damn liberal left pc politicians who have declared them a “race” and to be critical of them is also, “racism.” Fancy that.

   You have em in America but NOT on the same scale as over here.
