  2. Fine by me. I just hope it doesn’t come to that, unless the wind there always blows to the northeast.

India’s opinion might be accurate. But let’s not stick Pakistan on a stake for acting that way if they do. Many other nations act the exact same way. Kill all your enemies, and wipe out a big chunk of the locals who allowed them to live amongst them. That gets rid of the support infrastructure and sends a big message. This is how the world has always been, and I can guarantee that at several points in time India has acted the exact same way.

  3. If you want to win then I suggest this is the way to do it. Though it still baffles me why the US favours Pakistan over India. I would have thought India was a lot more trustworthy that Pakistan. The Indians are right too. The Pakistani security forces are riddled with mad mullahs.

  4. I think the reason we help Pakistan more than India is that India is trustworthy and they won’t do anything to raise a serious problem for us.  Pakistan isn’t trustworthy.  Pakistan is an Islamic country with all that that implies.  They’re a problem waiting to happen.  Their politics are unstable on a good day.

Iran is likely to soon join the nuclear club.  That’s a problem.  Pakistan already has nukes.  Lyndon, you’re completely right, they do have a few too many mad Mullahs.  What happens if, more likely when, the relatively secular government falls and the Islamists take over?

We’ve got no significant trade with Pakistan.  Outside of leather jackets, I don’t think they’ve got anything worth buying.  Someone correct me if I’m wrong.  That puts them in the position of not really caring much about the non Islamic world.

Potentially, if Pakistan goes Islamist, the whole region from Bangladesh to Israel could go up in a mushroom cloud.  Pakistan would probably nuke India, who would respond in kind.  There’s a high probability that Pakistan would either help Iran with their nuclear program or just plain share nukes with them.  Maybe just a joint operation against Israel.  Then again, we have the Sunni/Shiite split.  How many Moslems would die in that one?  What happens to the Saudis?  How much more danger do we need to consider?
