  1. My husband {USMC VietNam veteran} recommends that as illegals are rounded up, they’re sent to an abbreviated {6 week} boot camp, then deployed to the armpits of the world where the U.S. is expected to provide “police services” ................. if the illegals survive their 2 year MANDATORY service, they’re discharged & shipped back to whatever armpit of the world they come from originally ............... to preclude further immivasion incursions, he also recommends not one, but 2 fences the entire length of our 2,000 mile border - first fence is regular barbed wire, but about 6 feet high .............. between the ‘bob-wire’ and the next fence, about 30-50 feet - either mined or patrolled by dogs - next fence would be about 15 feet of concrete, with sniper towers within sight of each other .................. manned on a totally random basis .................
    {We LIVED in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, from April 2000-August 2002 ............... as two former Marines, we’re not REAL sympathetic to the invasion of our nation ............... }

  3. Yeah, Phobos, gotta love the hypocrites of the ACLU, wanking all the bloody time about those of us who smoke tobacco ...........
AZ Mountain Troll - “........ either mined or patrolled by dogs .........” - I was referring to landmines ............

  4. Diamond, I think that your husband’s idea has some merit. I think that two years as an MP, is a reasonable amount of service to compensate the United States, for the time, money and effort, it took to round up their sorry wetback ass, and throw them in jail.

Allan suggested that we should put land mines all up and down the Rio Grande three miles deep. I live in Austin, Texas. Allan’s suggestion would cause a good amount of decent ranchland to be shut down, or the possible detonation of a large amount of innocent beef. I think 30-50 feet of mines, between two fences, just might do the trick.

  5. Alcatraz is way too small.

  7. Same thing we do about the Endangered Species Act… shoot, shovel, shut-up.

  8. How long is it?

    1951 miles, give or take.

The Minutemen are patrolling 1.17% of the length. It is a nice gesture, publicizes the problems, but, in the long run, does nothing to solve the real problems.

Stanley - You live in Austin, what do you think is the real, practical solution?

Can’t just shoot all the illegals, that would make really big mass graves in the desert - ooh! Sounds familiar?

Come on folks, make real, reasoned efforts here.

  9. Robo, I am from Texas and I ain’t got it figured out yet.

The “real, practical solution” here, seems to be damned near non-existent.

You may be able to come up with a military solution, like mining the Rio Grande. This causes political problems. You will kill a lot of voter’s cousins, in this case. George Bush owes a lot of his political success to the Hispanic vote.

You may be able to come up with a political solution. This causes military problems. The voter’s cousins, and whoever else, are allowed to come across, because we are afraid to piss off a certain constituency.

There are no easy answers. That is why I asked your opinion.

  10. Okay, here we go:

#1 - Stop them at the border, register them (with all sorts of pre-requisites) & send them to the hiring managers stationed there for their use.

#2 - Close the borders totally.

    #3 - “Anyone other ideas?”

This is a huge problem. I run construction crews in a specialized industry. The best and I MEAN BEST workers I get are the Mexican nationals who are here legally, many because of the last amnesty. Sorry folks, but the Americans just have too much of a sense of entitlement, which makes them less inclined to work hard to keep their postions.

    My 2 cents.......................

  11. How do we close the borders is the question? I don’t know. It just ain’t happening.

  12. Robo,

Why can’t we just shoot ‘em? They are hostile invaders. Unlike whatever you thought sounded familiar, we wouldn’t be burying our own in mass graves.

It is my opinion that Vincente Fox is running an undeclared war against us.

  13. Cue that “Genesis” song-’It’s so haaard being an illegal ali-uuun.’
-Sorry-this is what happens when you’ve been getting five hours or less-usually ALOT less-of sleep for over a month. LOL

Seriously, I believe that if you come here illegally you should be sent back-excluding genuine asylum cases.

Also if you are her illegally and you have child in the US said child should NOT be given automatic citizenship.

    What’s up with that?

My grandfather came here LEGALLY as a todddler-from the Jewish “pale” of the Russian Empire(the area where Jews were required to live).
If it’s good for the goose…

  14. Got to get serious with punishing companies that hire illegals. If that happens, there will be much hesitation to hire them in the first place. Since they come to get jobs and such, they will just go back home. Before they are able to get things like welfare. In fact, make proof of citizenship/legal status a requirement for government benefits.
