$5 Billion for 1 million KW per year
I wonder how many dollars per GW that is
or even how much per KWH for just the roof
And the payback timing is making a huge assumption....
No maint. on the facility for the next 30 years. No cells crapping out, no wiring going bad or corroding. No grid issues with power, no battery storage issues....
The average life of a cell is 25-40 years. So, this will never pay back what it was to invest in it.
But, the up side is that there is much less yearly costs associated with it. As the money going back to the facility from sale of power will defray a lot of costs that would have been money spent. It still is better than a normal stadium. So, good for them. I hope it works out well, really.
Well, 5 billion Taiwan dollars. Which is about $24.95. No seriously, it’s about $151 million US at current exchange rates.
And I thought power generation was given in GWh - gigawatt HOURS. A bit difficult figuring out things otherwise.
I thought the building was really cool looking though. So much so that I made a new post category for architecture. It’s an interest Peiper and I share.
