BMEWS

I Will Not Bow But I Will Shrug

Our intrepid reader is in one of those pictures. You can guess who, and which picture. We had a tea party here in Flemington NJ, right in front of the world famous court house. Enough people turned out to shut down traffic downtown, but let’s face it, downtown Flemington is really only one street anyway. I’d guess the crowd was 300 strong.

PS - Great job with the pictures. And thanks for finding the cute redheads in the crowd! LOL

  1. BTW, I hear that BMEWS is now considered a “political activist” site and inaccessible from .mil computers. Kewl!!

Drew ,,, hey!  WOW. Great post. I’d read about it before hand but as you might gather, the hours difference and things happening here, I just don’t get as close as I should to more happening back home. So I wasn’t aware of the extent. Wow again. Ya mean there might be hope?

Have to ask re. the above.  Inaccessible from where? Or is that who?  .mil computers. ??
Sometimes you have to translate for us puter illiterates.

  2. One of our readers sent me an email that says he tried to access BMEWS from a military computer, and that access was denied because we are a political activist web site. That’s all I know, other than that his actual words said “.mil”, which is an internet domain I figure exists, but with which I am not at all familiar.

  3. Well, at least the movement is off to a brisk start.

I just hope we don’t have a few kooks go and do something stupid.

The various morons up at the top are already trying to paint these “Tea Parties” as radical zio-nazi-redneck-supremacy conspiracy trying to overthrow the government.

Let’s police our end and make sure they aren’t proven right.

  4. I was at the one in Albany NY.  Depending on who you talk to, there were 3000 or 4000 people there.  I only got four pics total before my digital camera had “issues” and wouldn’t work.  I emailed them to Michelle Malkin’s site, but as of last night, they hadn’t shown up.

  6. The best sign seen at one of the rallies:

    We came Unarmed.
    This Time.

  7. T, this was an exercise of the soap box. Next comes an exercise of the ballot box. An exercise of the cartridge box is a long way down the road, and I pray we never have to travel that far.

But there should be another Tea Party rally in the fall with the added message of GRIP.

    Get
    Rid
    Of
    Incumbent
    Politicians

If We The People can’t bring ourselves to look past our local selfish interests to toss out the bums - and they’re ALL BUMS imho - then we deserve the government we get. It’s going to take 6 to 12 years of concerted effort to turn over the crop in DC. We have to get past party lines and we have to have stamina. And that’s where the problem will be. Americans are impatient, we want it all, right now. But our government is set up so that we can only replace some of them at a time. Which gives the newly elected reps timed to become corrupt.

It ain’t perfect, but to fix it requires real effort. And that means getting over being lazy, start paying attention, and demanding more from our politicians. The cynic in me says We can’t do it; interest and awareness will fade in 30 days, to heck with 12 years. Ain’t gonna happen, not when Idol!! is on to distract us.
