I loathe the Arab Spring and almost everything about it, says Peter Hitchens

  1. Hadn’t considered the ‘flood of new immigrants’ angle. Hmmm…

And as usual, no one in charge is thinking beyond the next election. Or in this case, what happens after the current regime in Libya, Syria et al. is deposed. Both nations have WMDs stockpiled. <a href = “http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2011/08/what_about_syrias_and_libyas_wmds.html">What will happen to them?</a>

re: the Lockerbie bomber - is anyone really surprised that he’s being protected. Heck, that POS is treated like a hero over there. The real snub was perpetrated by the Scottish government when it released him.

  2. Tex ... I hadn’t thought of the new immigrant angle either, til some months ago when one of the papers published a map of the area.  Take a look. They’re almost next door neighbors.
The English channel once defeated the Nazis. Now it’s not quite so much a barrier.

You’re quite right about the powers that leech and elections.

  3. Well I guess when WWIII breaks out - We The People will truly be involved in an unfunded and immoral war - since it was the elite pc police and power hungry politicos always looking to the next re-elect that brought it on.

NG channel had an interesting piece after the Bush: The 9/11 Interview - it was about the true depth of evil of the Saddam regime. I found it interesting after all these years to open up about what a truly despicable dictator and tyrant that this man was. Can we not really truly believe that Qaddafi and Assad are any less dangerous. And if these men will kill their own citizens, how much more willing would they be to destroy other countries. And those ‘freedom fighters’ are just more of the same under (probably) a much more dangerous (World Caliphate) banner.

How in the World did so much of the civilized world elect morons and the intentionally pandering into the seats of power.

Don’t forget CinTexTim - that Dear Reader had a part in that too - by not out-rightly condemning the release. Dear Reader has been spineless since the get-go.

And he will waste millions of our hard earned taxpayer monies on this misadventure (never forget it was Jimma Carters spineless behavior that helped kick off this who new wave terrorism).

And the civilized people of the world are in jeopardy because of it.

  4. Wardmama -

I remember when Reagan bombed Qaddafi’s home tent back in 1986 in response to Libyan-supported terrorists attacks on GIs and civilians in Europe.

I also remember how things quieted down and Qaddafi disappeared from public view for several years after that.

There’s a lesson to be learned from that…

  5. From the start the Arab spring was bad news, in their own countries the way they behave cannot be judged by our standards, they are rulers of a medieval people/ religion and to be fair they were a whole lot better than the europeans were 1500 years ago! they were as they had to be. We will now see why the Egyptian leaders were harsh on their subjects, they had to be! ask the real Egyptians, the coptic christians (the arabs are invaders and the UN should apply the same standards as the north american natives hold the “white invaders” to now stop laughing it is exactly the same.
This is a disaster for peace, or it will bring about the crunch between islam and humans that much sooner.
