1. Penzeys Spice Company sent me another catalog. They sell quality spices, but their recipes can be awfully ... lame. This issue has another great chili recipe. It uses 2 pounds of meat, 4 cans of beans, 2 big cans of tomatoes, 1 onion ... and 4 teaspoons of ground chili. And 1 teaspoon of cumin powder. Are they for real?

   Agreed. Only one onion?

   I put ‘only one onion’ in my morning omelet. Two eggs, one onion, and a couple ounces of cheese.

   One onion in chili? Garbage. Probably no habanero peppers either.

2. I use the Serranos instead, so I can serve it to a crowd. habaneros are too much for most folks, though the flavor is great. I don’t know if the heat ever cooks out like with some other peppers.

   No, Penzeys sells nice spices, but publishes recipes for timid white folks in Minnesota.
   Even their “hot” Indian curry is tame, as are their Thai spices.

3. Don’t watch TV anymore,
   Gave mine away when they said that I would no longer get reception after the switch to Digital.

   Turns out they Lied, My tiny 2” battery powered TV gets four channels.

   Get almost all my news by reading the Blogs and the occasional abandoned newspaper.

   You can’t trust anything the MSM says so why watch or Listen?

   Someday I will get a Bigscreen TV But will have to do some remodeling first.
