  1. If this works, and it probably won’t, it will be better than armed resistance.

  2. I believe that O’Connor wrote the dissent, Frank. I suggest we stick to the actual perpetrators of this decision: Stevens, Souter, Kennedy, Ginsburg and Breyer. Commonly known as “the usual suspects”.

  3. Poetic justice indeed!  Perhaps there is justice lurking somewhere in this universe after all....

    wink

  4. Jim,

IF congress had a ‘collective’ ass.  Seems that ass is cracked into those who will do anything just to make Bush look bad and those who want to make things right.  But it sure would be nice to have them seal the crack on this issue.  Maybe if some of them lost their land.....  ARR ARRR AR..

This Souter story is like a bowl of ice cream on a hot day.  Just Desserts and a copy of Atlas Shrugged.  Sheeesh… too good.....  I’m in a better mood already.....  Will the cocktails be served in glasses where the stem of the glass is a strong man and the globe of the glass an imprint of the world?  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… I’ll have two, thank you....

  5. Heheheheeeee, ok,good start. Now for ginsburg, how ‘bout a Ruths Cris Steak House?  Gawd they have the best steaks in the land, no fooling, and an excellent choice of wines.  As for the rest of the dipwads, I’m sure we can figure something out as we go along. Oh! I know..a nice lil glass factory to make the stemware Pheonix mentions.  Umm..there is also a nice lil piece of property in Hyannis Port that would make a fine Life Guard Training center, or, um..Alcohol and Drug recovery clinic.  Gosh the possiblities are endless!

Pheonix, I’ll see your two, and raise ya two!  Cheers, galpal!  Wheeeeeeee!  I wanna buy a set of those goblets for my home house!  tongue laugh

  6. Imp,

I think you have a typo.  It’s about Ruth’s Cris Steak House and its great sizzlers and excellent choice of wines.  Wouldn’t that be :  ‘Excellent choice of whines’?  In fact, we should set up a nice bar in Hyannis Port <---- oooh… pun) and call it TED’S PORT O’CALL - Your Stop for Whine and Whiskey.  Harumph… Your Place to Bitch and Scratch that Itch and Make a Ditch.

    I’m stopping now.

  7. Just make sure “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” is on the jukebox.

  8. Stin....  oh.... hahahaha… too funny..

And yes, you are right about how OUR bases around the world have helped others beyond ourselves.  That is a given.  I went to that site you posted about the pirates.  I wonder what this world would be like without the USA ?

Now pull up a stool and have some whine and let’s bitch.  :} Want a slab of sizzling beef to go with that whine?  Ted will be in shortly once he cleans out his car.

  9. Pile on the sizzling beef, TY.

I thought Ted had “people to do that” for him and lawyers (who passed their own exams) to clean up the mess afterwards.

Most people don’t have a clue as to the how or why of the deployment of our forces around the world. I only have a small awareness from my time in the Navy.

When you think of how quickly we had people on the ground and ships offshore after the recent tsunami while the “humanitarians” were still figuring out where to hold meetings to decide on where to hold conferences on how to coordinate the assistance they were going to request from us. They showed up two weeks later and told our people they were doing it wrong. Pfffttt. The Aussies were there within 24 hours and we weren’t far behind them, due to distance.

I better not get started on that though.

  10. Stin, let’s face it.  Most folks wouldn’t know what to do with a clue about our deployment if they had it.  All of that is a “whole ‘nother world” to them....

    wink
