  2. Wow...wow...wow. Truly frightening.I had never even heard of this group before, thanks for the info.
And this was truly the most snort worthy part of their press release:
    “....prophet’s modest lifestyle.”
    Are they serious? “Modest”????
Yeah about as modest as barack hussein obama’s..........

  4. I can’t find it in my to gripe about a parade celebrating Muhammad’s birthday, any more than I can find it in me to gripe about a parade celebrating Jesus’ or Moses’ birthday.

I didn’t follow the link and read up on the sponsoring group, but that’s not the point. I’m not particularly fond of the Catholic Church either, but I wouldn’t assume that everyone attending a public function hosted by the Catholic church were all Catholics, either.

C’mon guys, if you shut out ALL of Islam, you push those Muslims who *don’t* support terrorism into the waiting arms of those who do. In a practical sense, you end up recruiting for your enemies.

We need to expect better of ourselves.

  5. GoF has a point. My take is that this parade and celebration is being done more to provoke others than for any other reason. With all the news coverage on islam and the Middle East in the past few years, this is the very first time I have ever heard of a public birthday party for their prophet. Will this grow? Is it an Americanization of a previously quiet/meditative event? Is it an attempt to equate parity with Christmas (after all, we are in the “no holidays until July” part of the year) to gain public approval & acceptance?

My wild imagination at work ... Islamic Rage Boy dressed as Santa, except in muslim green, handing out little burkhas and suicide belts to all the good little children. In a rickety cart pulled along by 8 goats. “On Achmed, on Rashid, on Sayid and Ali! On Waheed, Abdulla, on Umar and Mali!”

Perhaps it would be better just to shun ignore them.

  6. Please understand, I don’t see that it makes any difference WHO the sponsor is. To again use the parallel with a Christmas parade, I wouldn’t care it it was being sponsored by the KKK or the American Nazi Party. While that is certainly sufficient reason to take potshots at the KKK and/or the Nazis (but then, what isn’t?), I wouldn’t consider it sufficient reason to potshot, or lump together with the extremist sponsors, Christians or Christmas.

Like it or not, equality for everyone means *even including the idiots and the scum*.

  7. GoF, I agree with your take on the Parade/Celebration - slippery slope that it is - which is also why I have not advocated taking out that scum (pretending to be a ‘church’) in Kansas - the Westboro bunch. . .Although a Judge has liened their (WBC) ‘assets’ and requested bond from two of them - which might help stop some of their vile activities. But other than vile, emotional activities (and possible financial scamming) - WBC is not dangerous to those around them. . .

Having said that, if that camp is thought to be a terrorist training camp - is DHS, ICE, and all the other alphabet gov bureauacracy bunch keeping tabs on it - and if not does that not constitute ‘state’ sponsorship of terrorism. . .Oh no, I’ve given the bds’ers a new stick with which to bash evil bushitlerburtonco. My bad.

But if there is suspicion - why not an IRS check, verification of ownership, resident status of all the people - you know there are legal ways to find out if this community is just a bunch of muslims or a terrorist training camp. And I think it behooves the locals (more than you or I) to know first whether they have a camp ground or a training camp right outside their doors.

  8. "I have no idea how the locals will react to this little parade in their midst.”

How about if the locals go to the end point of the parade and erect a big banner that says:

“BINGHAMTON WELCOMES MARCHERS FOR GAY PRIDE”

  9. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Don’t forget the speaker with an amped-up PA system saying, “Well your ‘May Day is Gay Day’ parade is a little, um… premature… but that’s okay, we support you anyway.”
