GoT rip off

I am so glad I am not the only one that feels this way. I cannot tell you how many books I have read that had wonderful plots, great story telling, and then, in the end, hurry up the ending with stupid shit, ex machina type crap, all for the purpose of finishing. At least my investment in most of these books was a few hundred pages. You’re right, I have read ALL the books, and each book ain’t tiny. If you have read all of GOT, then you read equal to about 15 regular books. The story does feel hurried along now. I think you are right, the TV show ain’t cheap to make, so they are trying to shove as much into each episode, and have been filming so fast that they burned through all the books way too quickly. Not Georgy pooh has contracts to meet, and instead of a quality book, he is “cheating” and just writing for the sake of finishing it feels like. I mean hell, they are now at the point of doing a movie based on a book, that hasn’t been written or published yet.
I would have preferred they slowed down a bit. If you read the books, you know that they left out quite a bit. I would think a few episodes on the adventures of Tyrion and Penny would have been great. And what about Grif? That seemed like an important character considering who he really is. And what about the return of Catelyn (not jenner)...and her interlude with Brienne and Poddy...Good stuff no? Would have loved to see that on the screen.
Now don’t get me wrong, I still love the show, and thought the Daenerys firebombing herself to Dothraki leadership was great (nice boobs too). And of course, I am sure I was not the only one that cracked a smile when Tormund gave his reasoning for why he thought Jon Snow was not a god. And his making googly guys for Brienne makes for a great pairing.
And WHY OH WHY did I need to see a warty penis? Seriously, I am all for a bit of flesh...but that was way too much of a closeup for way too long, and had nothing to do with the story....WHY?
Anyway, I can only guess that GRRM is tired. Let’s hope he at least is able to finish up the story before his heart explodes.

Yet another reason I stopped watching TV. Game Of Thrones could be about a toilet competition and probably will be before long.
sdkar - unlike Spartacus, there isn’t a whole lot of gratuitous peen in GoT. I think the last we saw was on Theon, back in Winterfell before it all began. Or maybe naked Hodor under the heart tree in Winterfell’s godswood ("Hello big man!” gushes Oosha, brought back this year after a 3 year absence and killed off almost instantly. Case in point.) There’s been plenty of sex and lots of full frontal on the ladies, but no schwing. Sorry. And now that Theon has become a Justin Timberlake song, we’ll see even less.
