  1. TV cameras on every damn corner in the country, total Big Brother, and all the lawmen do is use the technology to track the offender afterwards and gather evidence for prosecution? Disgraceful. Utterly.

How about using those cameras to react to a crime taking place, and stop it or prevent it? The cops ought to be flogged. And this thug ought to be boiled in oil.

“detained indefinitely” in dickless England probably means 4 months. He should get life in the scorpion pit at the very least.

This is one more instance that proves every woman should be armed, always.

  2. I’m waiting for her rescuers to be sued by that NPOS’s lawyers - whose costs will be paid for, of course, by taxpayers.

  4. I’m glad they caught the guy who attacked those women, I agree that he did not get enough punishment. But, all of those cameras everywhere is just creepy.

  5. I used to work in mental health (close to a decade overall) and there are many schizophrenics that can be worked with to have close-to-normal lives. One of the problems with American mental health is that we closed many of the institutions in favor of cheaper community services, which mostly means letting them wander the street. I had a social worker teacher tell me that it used to be required that patients show up for meetings and take their meds or their disability checks would be suspended. Some of the meds can be given as an injection that works for a few weeks at a time. Sadly, that is now seen as wrong.

The best programs for the mentally ill are usually private companies that have a contract with the government. This keeps the money being eaten up by union administrators and forces the company to be responsible (screw up and you lose funding). Government programs end up being designed to be most efficient for the government employees. Partially this is unconscious and partially this is due to lazy jerks with an entitlement attitude. Government also squashes innovation because it is harder to run dozens of different systems rather than a single system. Government removes the consequences of failure for the individual and the system. That is why it is to be avoided.

Decades ago, people with mental illness were referred to as ‘patients’ but now are referred to as ‘consumers’. This Orwellian term has had a huge effect; patients get better and leave the system while consumers stay and consume. Consumers keep a bureaucracy funded and relevant.

  6. Punkins I agree with you all the cameras are deeply disturbing. Yet the police have bought into this nonsense. This blog http://inspectorgadget.wordpress.com/2009/09/08/3743/ is written by a police inspector and generally makes a lot of sense, but many of the comments from policemen support the cameras on every corner mentality.

This creature should have been shipped back to his homeland. The Nigerian police know how to deal with scum like this. Another triumph for Tony Bliar and his yooman rights embracing diversity agenda I suppose.

  7. Skin this bastard alive, on National TV, all channels, prime time. Give him drugs to keep him awake and alert, and then pour acid all over his exposed open muscles.
