Curious that Oregon and Jersey both disallow personal pumping of gas.
Here as of today the average is 2:85 for cheap gas and over 3+ for premium.
It’s all Bullshit and we can only piss and moan about it.
Luckily I harvest about 3 cars a week for my salvage biz and get all the free gas I need.
So far I have purchased a grand total of $40 worth of fuel this year 2015.
Color me lucky,,,,or Smart,,,very Smart.
What I have trouble understanding is why NON-ethanol gas costs ~$1.00 more per gallon. The damn stuff is mixed AT. THE. PUMP. So I should be paying the price of regular gas may be minus the subsidized cost of the alcohol. Better yet go to a marine/dock pump - non-eth is ~$2.00 more per gallon.
Because they are screwing you, 0007, that’s why. In no way, shape, or form is plain gasoline more expensive than ethanol, unless the subsidy TO THE RETAILER grossly exceeds the cost of the ethanol. Can you dig into it and let us know how much the pump jockeys are getting from the state?
My guess is that this is another pricing con, like “organic” food, in which we have to pay double or triple so that the poor poor poor old farmer can have the same agribusiness maximized profit margin he gets from selling GMO hybrid fruit and veg. And we’ll just close our eyes to those reports that 75% of the “organic” stuff is unprovable, especially for imported stuff from the other ends of the planet.
