That’s actually the gun I’ve been saving up for for the last year or so but I have a fdew more debts to pay down before I get one.

I’ve got the basic Mossberg 500. I figure just the sound of jacking a round into the chamber will loosen most unwelcome folks bowels.
Hey, someone sent me a thing about the “cut-shell” shell modification that turns most of the shell casing and contents into a projectile - casing and all. Have any comments on it? Looks to me like a recipe for eventual disaster. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGwGI0IMSgI
Steamboat, the method was originated in Britain during WWII. Since they didn’t have any guns to protect the homeland with they had to use anything that they had.
If you cut the casing just right it works like a slug. The only problem is it won’t feed through an action. This will work good in a biden double barrel special though.
About what I’d thought, StephanA. I figured there could be feeding issues, but mainly I was worried about (a)increased chamber pressure due to forcing the shell casing down the barrel along with its load, and (b) wear ‘n tear on the barrel.
Steamboat stick with 00 buck or SG as we call it.
Cut shells are contraindicated, particularly if you have any choke at all. The shell is actually larger than the bore, so pressure is an issue. There’s a thing called a wax slug, where you take your birdshot or whatever and mix it with liquid wax, then pour it into the shell to form a slug.
I have a 500 with a breaching barrel, and a righteous 590, but the best one is the SX3 semiauto extended to 11+1. Nothing can put up a wall of lead like that.
