Gee folks, I wonder when we will See Drew again.
Let start a pool.
I say 1st post will be 9am 3/30/13
And it will be a pretty red head pic.
Drew,
I have a Logitech K800 wireless, light up keyboard. It’s neat! I also have a Logitech M705 wireless mouse, they use the same transmitter that plugs into the front USB Port.
Mike
Neat! Once I’ve done a couple of nice house window jobs, to pay this thing off, I’ll start looking at neat accessories. A quarter TB SSD, a 10,000rpm 2TB HD, perhaps another 4Gb of RAM, a decent gaming video card in the $250 bracket ... and then a light up keyboard.
OTOH, this thing is freakin hot just the way it is, so I’m not sure I need any of the rest of it at all, until I learn to play games.
I do have to get used to this flat key keyboard. The key presses are only half of what I’m used to; I find my fingers bouncing off the keys after a stroke.
So much for the Pool.
Be careful about adding stuff to the dell as they calculate the PSU to be just good enough for the configuration they built it for. Ask any geek if you don’t believe me.
Have fun but for god sakes,Don’t become a gamer.Your wife will leave you and those windows will never get washed.
I meant Engineer,not calculate,Sorry.
That’s Ok, I had to go look up what a PSU was. Some kind of afterthought college? Maybe a car part, ie Power Steering Unit? No, it’s the ding dang power supply. So it was off to Tom’s for a short spell, to learn that the PSU you want has the “80+ Platinum” rating, which means it’s efficient and doesn’t waste your money. And the better ones have modular wiring. In actual engineering terms however, looking at the power O-scope graphs for each one, they all output crap electricity. Sine waveforms? Phooey. Not even close. Raggedy humps at best. Looks like PDC, unfiltered, uncapped, unsmoothed. Sure it works, but ... ewww.
No need for me to get a bigger PSU until I drop cha-ching on a potent graphics card. If. If ever.
At least you have Win7 and not Win8. Watch the PSU on the Dell; they at one time had their own wiring scheme and a standard one would not work with a Dell.
