  1. i suggest we again study Gen. MacArthur’s handling of the Muslim insurgents in the Phillipines back before WWII.

say what you will, but he got their attention.

  2. Isn’t it time to clean out this cesspit YET???

On a somewhat related topic, you guys have seen this secret letter from Iraq” that’s been going around? I’d take it with a grain of salt since it was published in Time magazine, but a lot of it rings true ... and the average soldier over there can’t stand the media and visiting VIPs because they get everything wrong.

  3. sorry about misspelling Philippines.

but the fact that this letter appears in Time thoroughly destroys any credibility it might have otherwise had.

    sorry.  just stating fact.

  4. Great idea, Greenie, but I thought it was General Pershing that knew how to use lard and a blowtorch.

    wink

  5. Jack probably had his way, and his opportunities, the Ottoman Empire having been a (losing) player in WWI, but i’ll have to look that one up.

but MacArthur found some very good uses for dead pigs and bullets, that’s for sure.

  6. now that that story has been attributed to MacArthur, I’m leaning more and more to the tag of Urban Legend on it.. since it has been attributed to Pershing many times..

  8. Three things would bring this situation down several notches
    1) the hanging of Saddam - let’s get this second trial over and just finish the dictator off.
    and
    2) capture and deport to a ‘black’ prison or Gitmo - that al-Sadr guy who is esentially behind a lot of the crap going on in Baghdad. The other problem is that these people have been living under the perks and bennies of Saddam for decades and are about to watch it all go for naught.
    and
    3) stop the flow of foreign terrorists and weapons [yeah I know we can’t secure our own borders, how can we secure Iraqs]

Study the map the North (Kurds) is doing fairly good, prosperous and getting back to just living (no longer in fear) and the South (oilville) is also doing good and controls the pursestrings for all of Iraq. Saddam’s enclave in the sunni triangle are fearful of the horrendous retaliation that will occur once the Americans pull out and at the same time are cognizant that their life on easy street is over.

Of course with all the media touting the ‘unstability’ of Iraq and the horrors America has visited on it (665,000 Iraqis killed because of the War)

crap rather than the truth simply because so many people suffer from bds or are financed by the dems or are anti-America or are simply idiots.

Read ‘A Soldier’s Promise’ by 1SG Daniel Hendrex to fully understand what it is going to take to win Iraq - and that there is hope. We just have to get the bds suffering media to stfu and let the soldiers go about finishing the fight.

  9. We need to pull our troops out of the area. Let the wonderful Iraqi militants have the area back. Then, when they’re all gathered in the town square of Baghdad, celebrating by firing their AK47s wildly into the air scraming of death to the infidel, we turn the entire area into a radioactive fishbowl. How are they going to bow to Mecca if it isn’t there any more?
