Global warming over here on Topeka too, brrr
One of them also invented the internet (I took the initiative in creating the Internet),I recall. Each of these two characters are as fact-based, honest, accurate, sincere and reliable as the other.
Until deemed a proven fact, Global Warming, as an imaginary upcoming calamity to be blamed on the US, must be dealt with exactly the way the Republican administration is dealing with it. Ignoring it. That, for those self-important brats, is intolerable. Hence, is good.
Globall warmening (tm) is an obvious long-term fact. Here in Seattle we were under a half-mile of ice only 10,000ish years ago. The question is, what does “global warming” mean? Depends on whom you ask.
To criminologists, it is a historically observable fact of a general increase in global temperatures since the last ice age, during which there was a general temperature stasis (f**king cold), before which there was a trend toward global cooling from a stasis (rather warm) that followed - wait for it - a period of global warming.
To zoologists, biologists, geologists, glaciologists and other scientists, it is an event with observable consequences such as species dislocation, increasing CO2, ice melt and glacier retreat.
To ecologists, it is a sign of looming problems with change in the ecosystem.
To enviro-whackos, it is a 99%+ human caused disaster that serves us right for being such evil shits, especially Amerika, for polluting the earth and not being good stewards of the earth by driving SUVs and burning fossil fuels.
My take is that a secular (meaning long term event and nothing to do with religion) warming trend has been under way for millennia, with cyclical (short term) periods of cooling (mini ice ages of 500 - 900 and 1300 - 1850) with periods of warming (100 - 400, and since 1850). In the 70s there were tremulous predictions of a coming ice age, and some scientists predict it now.
If humans contribute to global warming, it is a miniscule contribution. There are many good reasons to clean up and maintain the environment, but global warming is not one of them.
It is not unsafe to mark “global warming” off as BS because of what we know about its most rabid (and self-serving) exponents!
I frankly would not trust Al Gore to say that day is day and night is night.

I do not get the glowball warming when we are about to be frozen out (killed myself trying to get the sweet taters out). The stupid thing about it was that it was 78^ just on Monday - that is nasty weather - referred to as a Cold Front by the weather people - and that is about all it is.
Doesn’t Al ‘i invented the internet’ Gore have like 3 houses and ‘claims’ to do his flying on ‘credits’ and wasn’t he one of the guys who voted against wind farms (or whatever that whacko deal is)?

So I schedule concrete pours, pipe laying, under-ground electrical installs, etc, around this system thats coming in, and this afternoon was the warmest it has been since Sunday.
