  1. Come on Drew - they have been fighting amongst themselves forever. And occasionally for grins they go out and slaughter some innocent bystanders.

  2. Too true. I checked the ‘net for the current situation over there: complete and utter mayhem, with the remains of the military being one group, the winning rebels who “run” the government another group, and hundreds and hundreds of little militias and criminal gangs fighting for control of one patch of sand or another. Western involvement is just about 0 now that Gadhaffi is Ggone.

Libya has gone straight to Hell. Thanks Obama. What was the point with that??

  4. And frankly I don’t really think anyone cares all that much what the libyans do in their own sandbox. Send them a few thousand beachballs, shovals and pails and really stir things up.

  5. Re. Libya.  Well, Obama not alone and I don’t think he was the main player in that, because the PM here and his then Foreign Sec were hot to trot to invade and oust Gaddafi. In fact, it went so far as a vote and the PM was in shock when he lost the vote on that. Then the French too were insistent that the ‘civilians’ just had to be protected and in the end they got American support.  Grudgingly it was said by many here. The RAF flew sorties against the wicked Germans and ... oh wait.  They flew against a rag tag ill trained under led rabble not much better then the rabble trying to topple Gaddafi. It was reported in the Daily Mail in such a way that one got the impression that the RAF was in a fight with the Luftwaffe. Rich handed a huge laff at #4 above. Yeah, send em beach balls etc.

  6. Arab soldiers are so full of themselves until they meet an equally armed group then they run like puppies.

  7. BTW - Isn’t this (enabling the radical extremists who happen to be islamic) - by President Carter - basically what lead to 9/11?

So can we imagine what all the crappola President Obama is enabling - will lead to in 10 to 20 years (if we are lucky)?

  8. I just can’t see the point of replacing one stable, cooperative tyranny, with an explosive mish-mash of warring factions, several of which are without question terrorist groups. And seeing how alliances over there change by the hour ...

... And knowing that this guy had the biggest pile of weapons this side of Saddam ...

... And taking down the country and NOT bringing your own puppets in to run things our way?

What was the point, other than to “accidentally” arm the heck out of Bokko Haram and every other dusty rebel in the continent? Thus guaranteeing endless violence and instability in Africa, generally at a cost to any Christian communities there. Oh sure, they told us it was for the low grade tar oil. But months down the road from the revolution, and that stuff is still in doubt, with production a mere slice of what it had been.

What was the point of forcing a revolution in Libya other than to stir the pot AGAINST the West??
