  1. I heard some crap on TV that it was suggested that Richards donate $5,000,000 for every utterance of “the horrible N word” he made during that show. If he has that kind of money to throw away, what on earth is he doing working stand-up at some crappy club? I’d buy me a tropical island and live like Brando, hot and cold running native girls and luau.

    I’m waiting ... still waiting ... for people to realize and reject the double standard around those infamous two syllables. If you can’t get over it, then get it over and toss the word from the language. You can’t use it to indicate friendly insider group membership when one kind of person uses it on the one hand, but total hatred when another kind uses it whether the intent is there or not, whether the target has earned the sobriquet or not.

    I’m sick to death of this Richards situation. Is there some sort of unwritten rule that the hubbub has to go on longer than the Mel Gibson flap?

Nah he’d be going for 25 million each utterance..http://www.bet.com/Entertainment/jacksonmooneynwordboycott.htm?Referrer={03CE5360-2620-42CB-AD7E-77E4249C5FB7}

  3. Well, good for Jesse. Smartest thing I’ve heard from him in a long, long time. Must be having lunch with Cosby these days.

    Next I’d like to see every woman in America rise up and demand some verbal respect from certain types. I can’t accept that any of them actually relishes being called “yo, bitch”, “be-aitch”, “be-yatch”, “ho”, or those other, saltier terms of endearment. What gives there? After that I’d be happy to drive the Respect Train down to Babyville and eliminate the “pimp my baby” movement, with a stop at all the toy stores to burn all the Bratz dollz and the junior prostitute halloween costumes.

    If people want to be treated with respect they need to start treating other people and themselves with respect. Respect means common decency, manners, and consideration, not wanton self-indulgence and arrogantly false self-esteem. It really is that simple. Heck, it’s in this old black leather bound book I have lying around here somewhere, gold edges on the paper, lot’s of “thee"s and “thou"s. I think it’s called the bible? Golden Rule? You wanna get, you gotta give.

    Oh, and as for sports stars? Not a one of them is worth more than minimum wage. Wise up, wake up! They act like scum, they get fired. They fail the weekly whizz-quiz, they get fired. Bench clearing brawls on the field? Whole damn team gets fired. If we insist on making role models out of these people then we have a right to expect them to act that way all the time. If my kids needed a role model, I’d point them towards a Marine, not some drug soaked amoral moron who can throw a ball better than most people. Duh.

    Ok, rant over.
