  1. I’m not a citizen of the United States, nor am I eligible because I am only 17 years old (as of April 9th), but John McCain gets my vote.

    1) Supports the war in Iraq
    2) Firmly supports the state of Israel
    3) Is against abortion
    4) Belives that individual states should decide wether or not to recognize gay marriage
    5) Etc…

Those who claim he would not be able to assume the role of President should look at Reagan, one of the U.S’ greatest presidents and he sworn in at 69.

  3. Here’s another reason to vote for Fred Thompson.

Despite such attitudes, average Americans have always made up the front line against crime. Through programs like Neighborhood Watch and Amber Alert, we are stopping and catching criminals daily. Normal people tackled “shoe bomber” Richard Reid as he was trying to blow up an airliner. It was a truck driver who found the D.C. snipers. Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that civilians use firearms to prevent at least a half million crimes annually.

When people capable of performing acts of heroism are discouraged or denied the opportunity, our society is all the poorer. And from the selfless examples of the passengers on Flight 93 on 9/11 to Virginia Tech professor Liviu Librescu, a Holocaust survivor who sacrificed himself to save his students earlier this week, we know what extraordinary acts of heroism ordinary citizens are capable of.

Many other universities have been swayed by an anti-gun, anti-self defense ideology. I respect their right to hold those views, but I challenge their decision to deny Americans the right to protect themselves on their campuses—and then proudly advertise that fact to any and all.

Whenever I’ve seen one of those “Gun-free Zone” signs, especially outside of a school filled with our youngest and most vulnerable citizens, I’ve always wondered exactly who these signs are directed at. Obviously, they don’t mean much to the sort of man who murdered 32 people just a few days ago

  4. Fred Thompson / Duncan Hunter would be a good ticket.  big_us_flag

  5. That would be a good ticket, Thompson / Hunter.  It sets Hunter up as VP to take over in 2016

  7. Run Fred, Run.  Fred Thompson in 2008

  8. OK since Chuck Hagel wasn’t getting any votes I have replaced him with Duncan Hunter in the poll.

Thompson/Hunter does have a nice ring to it. Or maybe Thompson/Giuliani? Thompson/Romney?

    Run, Fred Run!

    clap

  9. Fred Thompson is made of radiation. He eats the bodies of slain terrorists for a pregame snack. What game you ask? Well, Fred Thompson likes to rip the fabric of time apart in order to catch gladiators in Rome. Historically this is referred to as “Special Guest Emperor Night”. The ruling is always thumbs down. Fred Thompson is actually immune to cancer. He just felt like toying with the last one. It is the secret recipe in his barbecue sauce, which may not be gazed on by mere mortals.

    Just some background info.

  10. Fred Thompson for President!!

The problem with McCain is he is an unpredictable loose cannon and a RINO.

We need a truly conseravtive candidate like Fred Thompson.

  12. I’d take hillery over hagel, that’s how much I dislike that man.  Doesn’t help that he’s one of my senators…

  13. I would vote for the Thompson/Hunter or Thompson/Tancredo - as the point of the VP being set up for 2016 - thinking ahead is what will get the GOP out beyond the eating themselves just to get a vote in the coming election dimmyrats.

McCain might be supporting OIF for which I give him kudoes but he turned on his peer group Vietnam servicemembers when he joined with Sen John Kerry to abandon any Americans left in Vietnam for the greed of normalizing relations with Vietnam. For that there is no forgiveness. I do not understand these Vietnam era veterans (Kerry, McCain, Hagel, Webb, Cleland, Murtha(TRAITOR)) who have turned so viciously on the military and seek to destroy it and if not that at least tarnish it into ineffectiveness. They disgust me to no end.

Rudy and Mitt just don’t move me - and I don’t really think either would be good for the party just look how the breathless media panders to them, there is a reason. . .

  15. What are their stands on the US Constitution (the document - not the ship)?  Is it cast in stone?  Is it a ‘living’ document?  Do any of them even know what it says?

  16. Electability - Fred.

    Effectiveness - Rudy.

Can’t be effective unless your elected, so I guess its Fred.

Machs nichts if Republicans don’t win back the senate.

  17. Hunter S. Thompson would roll over in his liberal grave if he knew that the namesake redemption of conservative America was his own!!  ® Karma has a sense of humor!!!

  18. Thompson/Hunter that is........

Posted by Rancino    United States   04/24/2007  at  06:32 PM

  19. Well Rancino, Hunter S. Thompson wasn’t exactly super liberal. For example, he was an avid gun ut. Today he would be a libertarian. I like him.
