Does private morality effect public job performance?

  1. Exactly. It doesn’t matter if you take the “morality” out of it entirely. If you do so, what you have left is 1) repeated breach of contract on his wife. She may be cool with that, but nonetheless, not honoring his end of a contract is an established pattern of behavior. 2) YEARS of enforecing laws on others, and demonizing people who do not obey them, *while* he’s breaking those exact same laws himself. Which of course, only reinforces the idea that it’s a pattern of behavior, established over years. Yeah I know I said this action should always provoke this set of consequences. But not for ME, I’m different.

  2. Not just different, but superior.

Reminds me of South Park’s Chef Aid episode - “I am a record producer! I am above the law!”
