  1. Didn’t read the book - but I must give him credit for going through the process to become a citizen -

But I fear that LaRaza, the Klownposse in DC et al will use him as the poster boy for keeping the 12 to 20 million illegals under the guise that they all want to become citizens and are just here to do the jobs Americans won’t do and pay taxes.

That is a lie and it is a lie that will destroy America if we let it keep going.

As in all things 10-25% are legit - working hard, attempting to become citizens, law-abiding (after their first Federal crime) - that however does not imply nor require us to willingly accept the remaining 75% - of which there are 10-25% who commit more crimes and/or are intent on terrorism (even if it is just to teach) from within and who have no intention what-so-ever of becoming citizens.

  2. I am Not in favor of Illegal Immigration.

I know a young Hispanic man that has Married an Anglo woman.
He is very Softspoken and treats his Nieces and Nephews well.
This young couple moved to California so she could persue a Teaching Job.
He applied for a Job and it was found that his Social Security number was Invalid.
Now all of the family members know he is Illegal.

The Problem is that once they cross the border Illegally, it is Necessary to commit Fraud and adopt someone else’s Social Security Number in order to Work in anything but the most meanial of jobs.

This young man would Like to become a US Citizen But he was told that he would have to leave the US for Ten Years and then Apply.

Realistically I don’t see that happening.

  3. Congratulations Mr. Milan.  Welcome to the family of United States Citizens.  You haven’t only finished the legal paperwork to be a citizen, you have become a part of America, you have joined us.  You are now part of the American experience for we are a nation of immigrants.

You have met the basic requirement that all immigrants should meet.  This is the same requirement that my Grandparents and Great Grandparents met. You came here to be an American.  I will never ask more of any immigrant than to do what my own family did.  They came here to work, to contribute to our country, to be Americans.

Wardmama, as you say, a large number of the illegal immigrants are real problems.  My problem with them in addition is that they did not come here to be Americans.  They came here to take what they could get and no more.  They are a drain on our society and our economy.

  4. Just how DID he cross the border and manage to stay here?

  5. I read his book, he swam.

Then he got into a dog walking business (no paperwork required) and happened to work for Will & Jada Smith (Men in Black, etc...) and they helped sponsor him.

I think he is a nice guy, he did the right thing once he got here and I congratulate him on it, but he got lucky. He avoided the authorities long enough to get the paperwork started.
