  4. Well, I HAVE to say that our Christmas Dinner yesterday was quite a WILD RIDE…
    Anne, me(we’re 60-ish), and SEVEN kids in their early 20s…

    It was a BLAST!!!

    BUT the BEST part was, my kids did ALL the cooking, mostly my daughter Alex, but the work WAS spread around… they prepped the 20-lb, 7-rib Beef Roast, made the potato Gratin Dauphinois, made the Yorkshire Pudding, the broccoli, and a made-from-scratch Hollandaise.

    The ONLY thing I contributed was a little coaching, plus I realized that the Beef Ribs were cranking along a LOT faster than the recipe books would suggest, and got it yanked outta the oven at the PERFECT moment, albeit it 1.5 hours early…

    If I have accomplished nothing else in this lifetime, at least I have taught both my sons how to make a proper Sauce BĂ©arnaise, and Sauce Hollandaise, WITHOUT using any wimpy double boilers.

  5. Well done. Knowing how to cook is a skill you’ll never regret. Or as I always say, making good gravy is nothing to roux.
