  1. Blunder my ass. “future editions might omit all references to religious festivals” means we got caught red handed, but are being peevish little twats about it because we can.

And why aren’t Kwaanza and Kill All De Missionaries For Lunch and the rest of those pagan african holidays included? Dat’s RAAAAAAACIST!!!!!!!!

PS - why on earth is the EU funding diaries in the first place? Is there a paper shortage over there or something? Pirates hijacked the last boatload of journals from China? Seems like another total waste of tax money. Any kid who really wants to keep a diary in this day and age knows enough to put it on their laptop in an encrypted file. Or online as an pseudonymed Facebook page.

  2. OK, let’s see which way this one stinks the worst.

First they produce a diary with all major faiths represented, except Christianity.  How do you overlook one of the most fundamental parts of Western Civilization?  Blunder my a**, someone’s using a lot stronger drugs than I am.

Next, when questioned about the omission, the immediate response is to eliminate all references to personal faith.  This then negates the binder of virtually all societies and the basis for virtually all morality.

So, which is worse?  A world vision without Christianity or a world vision with no faith in a Higher Power whatsoever?  I’m not sure which version disgusts me more.

Then again, I could just follow Drew’s idea that the EU shouldn’t have been publishing the diaries in the first place.  That simplifies things greatly.  However, I don’t want to overlook the obvious - the people behind eliminating Christianity or completely removing any faith in a Higher Power will stoop to revising all of civilization to get their way.  Had the EU not overreached and published the diaries, we couldn’t have seen their real motives so clearly.

1984, Brave New World and Animal Farm should be mandatory works included in every Civics course along with the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and a solid overview of Western philosophy and democracy from the Reformation to the present day.

    No faith - no morality.
