CCTV released of police ‘beating’ 15-year-old girl.  (hey, she begged for it. Good for the cop)

  1. The cop obviously told her to take her shoes off (probably not allowed to have shoelaces in the cell - might hurt herself...). She slipped off the first and lobbed it out the door, then started to slip off the other.

At that point the cop rushed in, kicked her in the leg, punched her in the face, slammed her into the wall, threw her to the concrete floor, kneeled on her back, punched her in the back of her neck/head twice (see other videos, the punches were edited out of this one), cuffed her, tried to lift her by the cuffs, then when that didn’t work grabbed her hair and lifted her onto her feet.

The cop claims her tennis shoe hit him in the shin, causing “pain and injury” (necessary precursor to a counter-charge of assault when her lawsuit is filed). Never mind that you can clearly see his shin striking the steel toilet as he slams the 15 year old girl head-first into the wall.

If she were any relative of mine, the cop wouldn’t have to worry about a misdemeanor assault charge.

And if you really think that anything she could have possibly said justifies that assault then you’re at least as despicable as that badge-wearing child molester. Do you punch kids for fun, or just dream about it?

  2. Wouldn’t they have told her to remove shoes BEFORE entering the cell?
And, due to a lack of sound here, we can’t know what she was saying to him.

It didn’t look like she was merely kicking off a shoe.

    Child?  15 is a child?

Hey, she was caught doing a crime period.  I don’t much care what the cop did to her.
I wouldn not have cared if shot her.

There is way too much ‘violent’ crime done every day and as a rule, there is little if any
penalty. Which of course is why there’s so much.

Funny thing, I didn’t see all that you did in that short clip available here.
But no matter.  Just because we don’t agree is no reason to assume I “punch kids” for any reason.  But some sure do need killing!

  3. Not that it matters, but she was caught as a passenger in her parents car; she took it without telling them, they thought it was stolen and called it in.  The arresting officers didn’t bother to immediately check her story. (That I find reasonable - I’d bet the cops hear less ludicrous lies daily.)

At 0:58 in your embedded video you can see the tennis shoe fly out of the cell and bounce sideways off of the assaulting cop’s leg; looks like it struck a little above the knee. Do you think that’s sufficient cause for the beating? Could anything she said have justified using force against her? Could she maybe have been somewhat justified in being sarcastic and “lippy” to cops who wouldn’t check her last name vs the car registration?

Here’s an unedited copy of the in-cell video. At 0:18 the two punches are delivered to the girl on the ground. The lifting by the cuffed arms and hair is at 0:42-0:46.

The assaulting cop claimed that a “blood filled pocket” formed on his shin requiring medical attention. (source) Do you think a tennis shoe that struck above the knee caused the shin injury, or that it’s more likely that the shin bruise is from his leg hitting the steel toilet? (0:34 on your embedded video.)

Are insults enough to justify violent assault? Would you be justified in attacking me for my “have you stopped beating your wife"-type insult above?

  4. I’ve looked at both videos now, as frame-by-frame as possible. From the CCTV camera in the hallway, at :57.5 it looks like the shoe bounces off the door before it hits the cop, but it does not look like it bounces off the door from the in-cell video Keszler linked to (0:07). From that I deduce, aided by the rather casual way the girl flips her shoe off, that it was kicked off with very little effort; what looked like a deflection in the hallway video is actually trajectory: the shoe is kicked with so little force that it’s falling sharply by the time it clears the doorway. The cop’s claim of injury by shoe is bullshit. Typical. But this time the lie is caught on videotape.

Have to disagree with you here Peiper. This cop is out of his fucking mind. Definitely a roid-rage like scenario. Utterly and insanely out of control. His reaction, against such an “awful” assault by a little girl 1/3 his size is unbelievable. Even if you consider his first push to be a justified defensive reaction, the rest of it is out of control. Fire him, arrest him, sue him into penury and then nail him up to the city gate by his balls and leave him to rot. This is what happens when you hire bullies to be cops.

Oh, and since the girl was not handcuffed when told to remove her shoes, the ENTIRE incident could have been avoided if the police department had used a little brainpower ahead of time and established a policy: instead of “take off your shoes” they should have said “Use your hands to remove your shoes and lay them on the floor and step away”. Stupid is as stupid does.

Keszler - do you have a link to that “it’s her parent’s car” angle? This story is all over the news this morning but I am not hearing that one. Thanks.

  5. Looks like a simple case of “I am cop, hear me roar!”.

Authority-drunk asshole with a badge & any excuse to go off on someone that he knows cannot hurt him. Seriously, what could this little waif of a girl, who obviously isn’t drug-crazed, do to this burly, power-tripping, tiny penis, no-balls, child abuser. This is the type we see all the time that gets into a position of authority so he can lord over the people who used to beat him up in high school & take his lunch money.

These are the morons who give good, honest police a bad name.

Sorry for the rant, I just hate people who think they can trounce people from a position of authority & never get in trouble because they are “special”.

  6. The girl was arrested after she was caught in her parents’ car, which had been reported stolen from her parents’ Tukwila home. Deputy Travis Brunner spotted the car driving without headlights about 3:45 a.m. on 32nd Avenue South in SeaTac and pulled it over.

She and another 15-yearold girl were arrested and taken to SeaTac City Hall to be fingerprinted before being transported to the youth detention center.

  7. Well, I stand corrected perhaps. No. I do.
Thing is, I reported what we get here and never saw links anywhere else. Granted, I suppose I could have searched.

Understand I am very much willing to believe the worst re. “kids” and cops based on experiences here.

For example, group of “children?” ages ranging between 11 and 15 were run off while trying to roast alive, a pair of puppies.  Dogs were saved fortunately in time before serious burns but the damn episode is indicative of what happens today.

A group of ten negros gang raped a 16 yr old girl with the mental capacity of an 8 year old, then used acid on her to try and destroy DNA.  She is scared for life and so badly burned over most of her body, she will never recover her core body temp.  They were ‘teens’ and the criminal system did NOT do that poor victim justice.

In another case similar where boiling sugar water used in place of acid and one of two girls are dead.

The list is endless and the result I believe of coddling and no real penalties.

So,,, naturally I read this story and automatically assumed the worst.

Frustration at work knowing what cops put up with daily and so maybe too ready to take their side.

  8. People that think They are In Control of the Situation when Confronted with a Police Officer Deserve whatever they get.
To avoid this type of problem Say Yes Sir and treat the Officer with respect.
Most of all comply with the Officers instructions and don’t give them any attitude.
If Kids were raised to treat adults with Respect this would not happen.
Popular Culture has caused this problem.
