  4. Coined it? I thought it up, but the connection is obvious. I’m sure other folks have thought it up too elsewhere. There’s only about a zillion blogs covering the special election, with a gazillion comments.

    I did see one comment or post somewhere that called an R win there a “Brown-out”. I thought that was clever, as putting Brown in takes power away from the Dems. And a lack of power is a brown-out.

    Bending the name Coakley into Croakley (an affinity for dieing) or Cokely (are there drugs in her past?) or Poakley (her lazy campaign has been pokey) is simple too. And I’m sure several other puns could be made from their names with a bit of imagination. Brown vs green. Going Brown for the count. Great Scott, a Republican win in MA! A subsequent trend of R wins could be called Brownian Motion, and so on. They all work pretty well.
