1. So what possible reasons are there for Goss to resign?

   1. He disagrees with Bush on policy issues?

   2. He disagrees with Bush for pressing leak investigations into the CIA

   3. Bush has lost confidence in Goss and asked him to resign? Perhaps Goss was part of the problem of intelligence leaks and not part of the solution.

   4. Goss is just tired of Washington and wants to spend a few years making big bucks in the corporate world as a “consultant” and enjoy his retirement.

   I’m leaning towards Door #3 at the moment.

2. Hey, the guy was slandered by Mikie (From Flynt ‘urp’) Moore in F(U)911! Gotta like that!

   CIA is a huge ship of fools; they have had the King Pin position in the US intel community for nearly 60 years. They utterly hate to be backgrounded by DHS or some DNI upstart! Heaven forefend!

   Goss is too far along in his life to hang in, too young to hang it up, and easily employable. And anyone who bitches about the “revolving door” of officials and consultants, I gotta ask, what should these guys do? Change careers at 60+? Maybe open a taco stand or something? And why should we the people lose the benefit of thier experience? Some are asshats, true, but most are not.

   Personal story behind this but too long to write up just now.
