  1. And this just goes to show the downsides to excessive taxation and protectionist tariffs.

    In 1936 a 1925 car was a clunker, and hardly worth a thing. A fixed amount automobile import tariff is not only shortsighted, but elitist; it’s only worth doing for the more expensive newer cars that the well off can afford.

  2. Drew I somehow doubt a type 22 Bugatti even a ten year old one would have been considered a clunker. Though I agree with you about protectionist tariffs.
