  1. Freakin’ Dhimmi Kyaduh.... ya know, when I heard the phrase “Stupidity should be painful”, I wasn’t thinking about HIS stupidity makin US hurt.

  2. By luck (I guess) ya pegged me right. I am a shootist. I don’t hunt, but I could make a career out of punching holes in paper and milk jugs, and doing reloading!

    Nice group.

  3. Steamboat

Great, that makes 3 out of 5 then, at least. Do you reload now, and if so what, and with what presses? We’ve got several powderheads here ... I’m a Dillon fan myself but I keep a little Lee around for decap and crimp duty. One of these days maybe we can get a side thread going (as if there weren’t already 8 zillion shooty forums on the net already).

And thanks. I love my Kimber. They are mighty expensive 1911 clones, but they come with all the aftermarket goodies installed at the factory, and then polished and adjusted by their pistolsmiths. The trigger is just superb. All you have to do is think about it, and bang. No creep, no overtravel, and only the slightest effort. It’s a great target pistol.

  4. I use an RCBS junior press and Redding dies. I reload for .223”
Kimber make some really nice rifles too, but a bit expensive over here. Nice group by the way. What was the range?

  5. The distance was 30 feet. The range was the Easton Fish & Game Association. Not trying to be picky, just figured I could use this as a free plug for my gun club. grin

  6. I use a Hornady Pro-Jector progressive - the old one made in the late 80’s, not the redesigned one. I also use a Rock Chucker single-stage for large rifle stuff where I am manicuring each round.

I’m biased towards RCBS and Hornady dies. I have several Lee die sets but don’t really care for them - or their presses. Lee makse some other gadgets that are great though - like the Lee hand primer thingy.

Dillon progressives are good, but (IMHO) a bit pricey. There is some name-recognition games going on there I believe, like Apple-Mac vs IBM. I’ve used a Dillon and equate it to the Hornady. Different strokes - different folks.

I haven’t done any reloading in over a decade - career and relocations got in the way. But I’m retired now and my family obligations are over so I’m moving to my final location and I’ll be setting up again. I can’t wait! I’m looking for property where I can reload a round, grab a weapon, open a window, and test the resulting round immediately! Hee hee!

  8. I just saw the LyndonB comment on.223. I reload that too. Yeah, I know I can get it surplus and save a few cents, but ya can’t get Hornady 68gr BTHP Match bullets on the front end. My Colt AR15-A2-Hbar with the 1:7 twist LOVES those puppies.

  9. Oh, and my contribution for 6 words to go with that picture:

“Just my twenty five cents worth.”
