Man released burglar as Keystone Cops fail to show up as they were going in the rong direction.

 

1. With the total gun control, other lackadaisical crime fighting methods and now, sheer indifference, I feel certain the government of (once) Great Britain is now actively attempting to destroy the remaining vestiges of decency.

   It is clear the government have taken a position against the good fortune of the citizens - excuse me, subjects.

3. GOF the Home Office (which controls the police here) would advise anyone in this situation to phone the police and hide in a cupboard. It wouldn’t surprise me if the police subsequently prosecute the householder either. The perp will claim he was “assaulted”
   To give you another example. When I was a child some 30 or more years ago quite a few brick walls had broken glass bottles cemented into the tops to deter thieves from climbing over them. This is now illegal as it could injure a would be thief. I think barbed wire around your property is also banned for the same reason. Honestly you wouldn’t believe how low things have sunk in Britain. Your home is no longer your castle these days.

4. Ya know, sometimes I hate putting up with the rednecks and bigots in rural Texas. But… I’ll keep my mouth shut and smile, all for the sake of keeping one thing I can STILL see if I drive far enough back in the woods:

   “PRIVATE PROPERTY, NO TRESPASSING: Survivors will be prosecuted.”

   And one I saw in W. Texas many years ago. I’m not sure of the ranch’s name anymore, but the sentiment is accurately presented:

   “Rocking J gate, ranged for a 30.06. NO SOLICITING. If your intentions are peaceful, you are welcome here.” Below the sign is a standard paper bullseye target, used. And you can tell the post both signs are attached to is the post the target was on when it was shot. The house is at least 200 yards away.
